Cockroaches Cockroaches have a great ability to spread diseases, trigger allergies and asthma, and reproduce offspring at a rapid rate. As a result of these factors, effective pest control is essential to prevent and manage cockroach infestations. Treatment process for cockroaches A thorough inspection and assessment is conducted by your technician to identify the level of infestation, species of cockroach present and locate nesting sites. A residual insecticide spray will be applied as a fine mist to internal areas including entry points, cracks and crevices, and along skirting boards. Dust will be applied to accessible roof voids, subfloors and areas where cockroaches are known to hide. Gel bait treatments to kitchen cupboards, sinks and electrical appliances in known harbourage areas. Cockroach treatments often require a follow up visit to effectively eliminate the infestation, particularly when dealing with German cockroaches. Preventative recommendations will be provided by your technician on the day to protect your property against future infestations. All of our chemical practices/treatments under our Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program are approved by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA). Where possible, Petrie’s Pest Control aims to use non-chemical treatments and provide alternate recommendations to our customers to help protect their homes and businesses against unwanted pests.
