Ants Ants play a very beneficial role outdoors but they become a nuisance when they enter homes in search of food, water and shelter in large numbers. It is always best to call a professional pest controller to ensure the safe and effective removal of ants especially when the problem is severe or recurring. Ants can be very challenging and may require multiple treatments to eradicate. Treatment process for Ants Inspection/assessment by the technician to identify the species of ant and level of infestation. This step is critical to identify the ant species involved as different ant species require different treatment methods. Treatment methods which are popular include baits, residuals sprays and dust. Baits can be in the form of gels, liquids or granules. These are placed in specific locations where ants are active. They attract the ants which consume the baits and then the ants take the bait back to the nest to kill the queen and eliminate the colony. A residual spray is applied as a fine mist to both the inside and outside the property. Dust is great for getting into areas where ants hide including roof voids, crack and crevices. If the ant nest can be located by the technician, they will directly treat the nest which will kill the queen and the entire colony. This is the quickest and most effective way to treat for ants. Preventative recommendations will be provided by your technician on the day to protect your property against future infestations.
