Are you licensed and insured?

At Petrie’s Pest Control, we are licensed by the NSW EPA – licence no. 5111662.

We are fully insured with Public Liability Cover of $20 million through QBE Insurance.

For carpet cleaning, we are insured with Public Liability Cover of $20 million through Vero Insurance.

We also do not use sub-contractors to perform our work.

Please note at the present moment we only perform treatments for general pest control – see our full list of services under residential services. Petrie’s Pest Control does not offer termite management, i.e termite inspections or termite treatments.

Are the products you use safe for both my children and pets?

Yes. The safety of your family, pets and property is our primary focus when carrying out a pest treatment.

We use only the latest pest control products on the market that are all approved and registered by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA). Petrie’s Pest Control only uses products that are of low toxicity and applied selectively to areas of your property as per the label.

All our treatments are odourless and do not leave any stains as we use water based products.

We do advise customers and pets to vacate the property during the treatment and post treatment until it dries. This is usually 1-2 hours.

What do you need to do to prepare prior to any treatment?

Clean your property prior to the treatment as this will ensure the treatment is most effective.
Move any furniture that can be moved away from walls and internal skirting boards.
Ensure access to the roof void and subfloor for the technician if applicable.
Cover all pet enclosures with a towel or sheet such as bird cages and aquariums
Close all windows before the treatment commences.
Ensure lawns are mowed prior to the service if a flea or tick treatment is being carried out.
Remove washing from the line and remove any toys or items from the perimeter of the house.
Be prepared for people and pets to vacate the property during the treatment and for 1-2 hours post-treatment to allow the products to dry.

What if it is going to rain on the day of my service?

If the forecast is for heavy or continual rain on the day of the service, we will be in contact with you to reschedule the treatment to external areas. Internal treatments can still proceed, however sometimes it is best for both parties to reschedule the whole treatment to another day when the weather is more favourable.

How long does the service take?

Most general pest treatments take between 1-2 hours to complete. The products take a further 1-2 hours to dry depending on conditions. The technician on the day will inform you of the vacate and return timeframes.

When should the end of lease flea treatment take place?

It is important for the end of lease flea treatment/pet fumigation to be carried out after the general cleaner and carpets have been steam cleaned at the property. It is critical that this is the final step before returning the keys to your real estate.

We will then provide you with your certificate and service report to help you receive a 100% bond back when it is time to leave.

If you have had pets during your tenancy, Petrie’s Pest Control can carry out both the end of lease carpet clean and flea treatments, saving you time and money. Combine both for a great packaged deal to avoid the hassle of scheduling and meeting up with two different tradesmen.
